DOH monitors dengue outbreak in Cavite

Officials of the Department of Health (DOH) will visit the province of Cavite to monitor the status of the dengue outbreak in the said province. Currently, there are 4, 000 cases of dengue in the said province.

PNP releases artist sketch of kidnapping suspect

The Philippine National Police (PNP) released the artist sketch of one of the suspected kidnappers in the Samal Island incident wherein three foreigners and a Filipina were kidnapped.

Said sketch was made through the descriptions made by the two Japanese tourists who were able to escape the kidnapping incident.

“Jenny” gets stronger

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the tropical storm “Jenny” continues to gather strength while at the same time slowing its movements, which according to the PAGASA will make it stay longer inside the Philippine area of responsibility.

“Jenny” affects the “habagat” in Visayas and Mindanao, bringing heavy rains in the said regions.

Abu Sayyaf suspected of kidnapping of foreigners in Samal Island

Although there is no direct confirmation yet, authorities are suspecting the bandit group Abu Sayaff to be behind the kidnapping of three foreigners and one Filipino in an exclusive resort in Samal Island.

PAGASA spots tropical storm outside PAR

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is currently monitoring a tropical storm that the said weather bureau spotted outside of the Philippine area of responsibility.
