QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News Service. June 5) – It is the largest city in the CALABARZON region and the seventh most populous city in the Philippines. We’re talking about the other famous city located in the mountains – Antipolo.
During the Spanish colonial era, Antipolo was a favored vacation spot. Due to its proximity to Manila, city dwellers travel to Antipolo during the summer months to cool off.
The cool mountain air invites travelers to stay and sample what Antipolo has to offer. The city is famous for its cashew as well as for its native sweet delicacy, suman.
Celebrated in songs, the famous Hinulugang Taktak remains as one of the most visited tourist spot in Antipolo. Although the falls suffered from environmental damage in the past, the city was able to successfully restore it to its former glory and once again, the beautiful spot draws a lot of visitors every year.
One should also take the opportunity to see the sun set in Antipolo, whose location in the slopes of the Sierra Madre allows for a magnificent view of the nighttime cityscape of Metro Manila.
